About Burritista
An independent guide to Denver's breakfast burritos, kept by people who take the burrito seriously.
Burritista started as a small side project, a spreadsheet of breakfast burrito scores we shared with friends after long weekends of eating. The idea kicked into high gear during the Denver Post's "March Madness" breakfast burrito bracket, when we realized how much of the city's scene went under the radar. Great spots were left out entirely, and the bracket's spotlight rarely reached past a handful of the same names.
So we started eating our way through the Mile High City on purpose. Hole-in-the-wall stands, roadside counters, weekend brunch spots, every plate scored with the same 100-point sheet, no exceptions. What began as a spreadsheet became Burritista: a living guide to the breakfast burritos Denver is known for.
For now the guide is team-fed: we eat, we score, and we publish. Community submissions are coming soon — we're still small, we're still local, and we still believe the best burritos in town are the ones nobody's talking about.
Our mission
To give the breakfast burrito the respect it deserves: help Denverites and visitors find the city's best plates, and hold every restaurant to the same honest standard.
Honest scoring
No pay-to-play, no favors. Every burrito gets the same 100-point scorecard, and low scores get published too.
Denver first
We're built around the local style: potatoes, eggs, meat, and the eternal smother debate. This is a Denver burrito site, not a food blog that covers Denver.
Still growing
Every review here was written and approved by our team. Right now we've scored 26 burritos, with more on the way.
